What’s Twin Sheet?
You understand best what Twin-sheet technology means when you try to walk with a Packline NX.
But we will briefly describe the difference here. Imagine having a 6mm thick plate in your hand. This will always move, bend and twist. But as soon as this plate gets a number of elongated profiles, the plate becomes much stiffer. Only in the direction in which those profiles run.
If you instead “load” a 6mm thick plastic plate, consisting of 2 plates of 3mm, together with many hundreds of dots, multiply the reinforcement and the material becomes extremely strong, not only in 1 direction, but in all directions!
This revolutionary new Packline series combines our aerodynamic knowledge with unique leading edge ‘twin-sheet’ production techniques.
HTS Packline is the first manufacturer to use this technology for roof boxes. Twin sheet is vacuum thermoforming with two separate sheets. In the Twin sheet process two sheets are heated and then formed.
One of the great advantages when using double blades for a roof box, is a much safer and better looking product.
PACKLINE NX 215 is the first roof box ever, made of two abs sheets! It has a double layer and in the nose there is an integrated closure that hooks into the suitcase as it were! So extra security!
Also new is the fact that this suitcase has no “reversed rain gutters” that catch wind. All the other roof boxes on the market so far have that. The lid of the old roofbox catches wind and brakes as it were. That’s solved for good with this roof box! The lid fits seamlessly to the underside of the roofbox and has no more “rain gutters”! As a result, of course, much less wind noise and less fuel consumption!
Also new is the very simple push button to open the lock.
