The Yakima HighRoad bicycle roof rack is the complete new carrier of the brand Yakima. This 2018 model bike carrier has a completely new way of mounting. The carrier ensures that the bike is clamped to the front wheel, this means that the HighRoad is very easy to use on cars with a vulnerable frame such as carbon. The load capacity of the Yakima HighRoad is no less than 20 kg. This means that you can also transport city bikes on the carrier.
Theft protection on HighRoad
The Yakima Highroad has 2 locks, namely: a lock that closes the carrier on the roof racks. In addition, you will find a cable lock on the back of the carrier. When not in use, this cable lock is completely integrated in the carrier and therefore cannot damage the roof of your car. You will also find an integrated ring on one of the two holders for the front wheel. Here you can optionally remove your own bicycle lock. This way you can further protect the bike against theft.
Safety Yakima HighRoad
In addition to the anti-theft devices on the HighRoad, you will also find other unique security features. Thus the carrier has the patented TorqueRight Knob. This ‘moment’-button causes tension to be applied to the front wheel so that it becomes fixed. Simply turn the knob until it clicks, this way you can be sure that you have the correct tension on the front wheel and that it is not too loose or too fixed.
